Our Story

Reinhold Jewelers was founded by Marie Helene Reinhold, renowned in the jewelry industry for her immeasurable talent in finding and nurturing artists, many of whom have become icons in the business. Her passion for cultivating talent and building relationships with artists and luxury brands has made Reinhold Jewelers a name to be reckoned with in the industry for more than 35 years.

Believing that every piece of jewelry tells a story, Marie Helene combined her love for fashion and her passion for art, determined to create a venue in which to  highlight jewelry designers alongside their beautiful creations.  Marie Helene was driven by the idea that a piece of jewelry was more than just a combination of luxurious metal and precious stones, and instead a work of art in its own right. 

Beyond the story that the designers tell through their pieces, Marie Helene believed in jewelry as a way for us to create our own stories.  Each piece of jewelry carries a memory and moment- personal to each and every one of us. 

1967- Reinhold Jewelers opens in 201 Calle Cristo in Old San Juan

1975- Marie Helene refocuses Reinhold Jewelers into a designer focused jewelry store

1978- Reinhold expands to create a jewelry store within Velasco, a premiere Puerto Rican department store, in Plaza las Americas

1995- Reinhold moves into it’s current location within Plaza las Americas

2007- Reinhold opens the David Yurman Boutique

2009-  Reinhold opens in Plaza del Caribe in Ponce

2013- Reinhold expands it’s focus on men’s jewelry and lifestyle items and opens Kiyume in Plaza las Americas

The ethos of Reinhold Jewelers has always surrounded our passion for curating and elevating the work of our designers, each of whom is an important member of the Reinhold family. The work of every designer represented by Reinhold reflects the connection between the artist and their story. 

Emphasizing the designers and their history has earned Reinhold Jewelers international recognition and established its fame as a company that gives value to the authorship of the jewelry creations.  This avant garde view of jewelry as an expression of life and art, is a core value to Marie Helene and continues to be our guiding principle.

Reinhold Jewelers was born and flourished in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  We feel lucky to be based on an island with such a rich cultural heritage and with such a deep passion for the arts. 

As a representation of our roots, our annual Holiday Book is tied to key elements of Puerto Rican history and culture, including the often overlooked beauty that can be found on our island.

Emphasizing designers and their history has earned Reinhold Jewelers international recognition and established it’s place as the Designer’s Jeweler.  

2000- Best Retailer in Designer Jewelry  

2001- Women’s Jewelry Association Retailer of the Year

2002- Named Best Designer Retailer by the Contemporary Designer Group

2010- Couture Human Spirit Award given to Marie Helene for her tireless efforts to support and uplift designers in the jewelry industry 

2014- Marie Helene was awarded the GEM Awards Lifetime Achievement Award

2021- Reinhold Jewelers inducted into the National Jewelers Retailer Hall of Fame
